On December 23, 2025, the Veterans & Community Housing Coalition was featured by CBS 6 Albany in an article highlighting plans to transform 12 acres of state-owned land on Northern Pines Road in Wilton into additional housing opportunities for Veterans experiencing homelessness.
The property was transferred to VCHC by New York State and will provide an opportunity to expand the organization’s housing resources for Veterans. While plans for the property are still being developed, VCHC intends to explore low-income housing for Veterans, along with other potential uses for the acreage.
The article also highlights the impact of VCHC’s transitional housing programs through the story of Army Veteran Roger Thomas, who found stability and support through VCHC after experiencing challenges with employment and housing. The organization’s work demonstrates the importance of community-based services in helping Veterans successfully transition to stable housing and civilian life.
