2025 ALA National Convention – ALA New York Unit 1450

On August 25–28, 2025, delegates and members of the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) gathered for the 2025 National Convention, where representatives from ALA New York Unit 1450 shared important updates about Veterans housing efforts and supportive services on behalf of the Veterans and Community Housing Coalition.

The video features speakers Cheryl Hage-Perez, Executive Board Liason; Ray O’Conor, Author and Honorary Chairman of the Annual Veterans Ball; Diane Nazzaro, Executive Director; and Sheila Holman, from ALA New York Unit 1450 discussing the organization’s commitment to expanding housing options and resources for female Veterans, especially those facing homelessness or housing insecurity. Members emphasized the organization’s role in connecting Veterans with community partners and services that help improve quality of life after military service.

“We know that safe, stable housing is foundational to a Veteran’s ability to thrive, and we are focused on ensuring women who served our country have access to the resources they need,” underscoring the Auxiliary’s national priority of advocating for Veterans’ wellbeing.

Through their work, Unit 1450 and other ALA chapters aim to support women veterans with housing, education, and health resources, building on broader efforts by veteran-serving organizations to reduce veteran homelessness and promote long-term stability.
